It was also the last of the Ultimate Ninja Series for the PlayStation 2. However, the Hero's History mode that retells the events of the original series have been discarded, though the characters itself remain in the game. The game retains the RPG mode from previous game, now allowing the player to control characters other than Naruto (such as Sakura Haruno and Kakashi Hatake). The assist characters cannot be turned off. There are many updated ultimate jutsu, including the aforementioned assist-specific ones. Many of the character's jutsu from the previous game were updated. Certain combinations of characters create unique jutsu in a match these combinations reflect the associations of those characters in the anime and manga. Assist characters are chosen during character selection, and can be called in during a match to deal extra damage.
The different game modes in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 include Ultimate Contest, VS Duel, Hero’s. In the series, you follow the main story of the series, Naruto Uzumaki, as he looks to be the head of the village (a Hokage). One of the new gameplay additions is the introduction of assist characters. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 came out in 2005 for the Sony PlayStation 2 and is based on the Japanese manga series: Naruto. The game features 62 characters and continues the Naruto Shippuden storyline, going up to the end of Sasuke and Sai arc, following the manga (the anime had not finished working on the arc at the time). It is the only game in the series not to be released in North America. It was released in Europe on November 27, 2009, and in Australia on December 3, 2009. However, you can challenge a friend to multiplayer on the same console by plugging in a second controller.Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 5, known in Japan as, Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Accel 2 ( ＮＡＲＵＴＯ－ナルト－ 疾風伝 ナルティメットアクセル２, Naruto Shippuden: Narutimetto Akuseru 2), is the fifth installment in the Ultimate Ninja series, and was released in Japan on December 20, 2007. Unfortunately, the game does not feature online multiplayer. Also, the controls for the game are simple enough for anyone to pick up and play without being terribly confused. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 does a good job of explaining the series as you go along. You don’t have to be a big fan of Naruto to play the game either. The gameplay is nothing short of incredible as you play through different areas with upgraded graphics. You can also summon giant monsters to turn the tide of battle. You are also able to summon other Naruto characters to fight alongside you by using your Ultimate Jutsu. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 is the first in the Ultimate Ninja game series to use computer-generated cutscenes. You can also destroy the town a bit in a Zelda-type way by breaking pots to find money and scrolls while participating in various mini-games. Unfortunately, Hidden Leaf Village is a little bland and it can be repetitive running around and challenging other characters from Naruto to battle you. It includes a battle royale, where you battle other characters in the Naruto universe for the right to make a new law for Hidden Leaf Village. Naruto’s Ultimate Contest single-player mode is rather long and should provide hours of fun by itself. Ultimate Ninja 3 plays a major part in the story arc of the Naruto anime and lets you play some of your favorite scenes from the show.
Not only are there more characters for you to play but you can make them gigantic as well. It doesn’t make a lot of changes to the fighting system from the previous title, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2, but it does come with a larger cast of playable characters. The Ultimate Ninja series has always been lauded as the better game series under the Naruto name.
